Deborah Jean  Wilkins (Schaeffer)
Deborah J. Wilkins, 61, of Bedford, formerly of Mount Joy, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 with her family at her side.

She was born Tuesday, February 18th, 1955 in Mount Joy, a daughter of the Warren R. Schaeffer and Dolores J. (Weiss) Schaeffer of Mount Joy.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two children,

Angela Hilton and husband Steven Hilton of Jennerstown,
Thomas Wilkins Jr. of Somerset,

Three grandchildren,
Nicholas Wilkins of Bedford, whom she raised in her home,
Amber Wilkins of Mount Joy,
Bryce Hilton of Jennerstown,

A sister Patricia Buller of Mount Joy,
Two brothers, Don Schaeffer and wife Tina (Coen) of Loysville and
Robert Schaeffer and wife Tracy (Beckley) Schaeffer of Rheems, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Deborah was an active member of the Bedford United Methodist Church. A graduate of Donegal High School, Class of 1972, where she was a clarinet player with the marching band, Deborah then attended Ashford University in San Diego, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Masters Degree’s in Organization Management and Business Administration.

For 22 years she was employed in the Composition Department at RR Donelly at their Steelway Facility in Lancaster, and for the past 2 years has worked for the Alternative Community Resource Program (ACRP) of Bedford as a Peer Support specialist.

She enjoyed working puzzles, was dedicated to helping others, and most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family.
